In this post I share the before and after renovation process of my living room

When my husband and I purchased our 1930's home, we saw potential in all the rooms. They are all spacious, usable and each room is at least 8 feet tall. We new that a fresh coat of paint, updated furnishings and decor was all that was needed.

To get started we prepped and painted the walls. I decided to be a little bold and create an accent wall where the TV would be. The color I chose was navy blue and the remaining walls were painted in a light light blue. For the ceiling we went with traditional flat white ceiling paint and white semi-gloss enamel for the trim.

The fireplace was in great condition, the detail alone is something you won't find in newer homes. We decided to freshen up the look by using the same paint used on the trim, which really allowed the fireplace to standout against the blue wall.

Lastly we addend crown moulding to finish off the look.

As a result of my paint choice, I decided to go with a coastal theme. Obviously, I put the cart before the horse. One of the highlight of the room is a pair of pillows purchased while Honeymooning in the Hampton's. These pillows have location and coordinates of where we stayed, which continue the theme. Once everything was done and the decor was added you immediately get a warm and inviting feel.
