My Backyard Reno...Part II

After 3 long years, I finally decided to breakdown and hire contractors to re-model the backyard. Over the years, I tried tilling, re-seeding, re-seeding and re-seeding, but I got nothing. Just crabgrass. It's as if I were putting down crabgrass seed! My lesson? Some backyards aren't worth the trouble nor time trying to fix yourself:)

So I ended up compromising. In-order for us to hire a contractor to build a new patio and put down sod we decided to plant the trees and plants ourselves and lay the mulch. My husband and I also maintain the yard by mowing and trimming and not hiring outside contractors to do the work. When you add it all up, savings are substantial!
