As I mentioned previously, my trips to the beach have inspired my theme and decorating style for my dining room. One piece that was not purchased but instead made was my glass globe garden. This was a great addition to the room since it reflected me and the space.

To get started, I decided to use the sand and seashells I collected from my recent beach trip. These were going to be used to make my mini sand dune. I then used my glass globe I purchased from Marshalls to put the sand in, it was only $4!!! Once my little art project was complete, I decided to place it on my fireplace mantel for ease of view (it's like looking at the beach! not really but a girl can dream can't she!?!.

Small Tips:

  • Opt for simplicity, too much of one thing can create an overwhelming eyesore. Stick with 1 or 2 pieces to help balance the space.

  • Reuse existing pieces, why spend more money?

  • Be creative, make your own decor
